TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
In a recent blog entry here at Tex's Amway Global Blog; "Tex" a pseudonym for an Amway Global-affiliated Independent Business Owner and the subject and a writer for this blog announced that he was in "Talks" related to possibly "retiring" from this blog as a contributor.
One can only assume that these "talks" are with Amway Global and/or Motivational Organizations/IBOs and their legal "muckety-mucks", who are the topic of "Tex's" blog entries.
If a blog entry written by "Tex" has libeled someone or any matter crossed a legal line that would result in legal action against Tex, he has the power to delete those entries and the associated comments.
He does not have the power to delete the entire blog, although he can quit contributing to the blog at any time. If "Tex" quits contributing to the blog, it would, in effect, put the blog in "hiatus" and it would only remain as an archive to "Tex's" efforts.
I have no plans or have not been contacted to delete this blog or any entries. No details have been disclosed to me by "Tex" or any other person regarding any legal action regarding this blog.

TEX Answers The Prague Questions
As most of you know, Tex was invited to Prague by Alticor to speak to, along with 4 other bloggers and blog commenters, a conference of PR and External Affairs Staff on the phenomena of blogging and its impact on the direct sales industry, specifically Alticor, Amway, and Quixtar.
The blog panel was asked a series of questions by a panel moderator and then allowed to follow up.
Tex was articulate and to the point.
Over at "On The Road With Dave", I reprinted the questions asked of the panel and Tex gave his answers.
I'm reprinting them here.
Let me say, that at no time during the conference were we told NOT to blog about the conference. It was pretty much expected that we would.
The conference session opened with Dino giving a short Powerpoint presentation on what Blogging is, What blogs can do, and how Quixtar, Amway, and Alticor are using blogs. The ease of setting up a blog was mention and different Blog platforms like WordPress and Blogger were mentioned.
The Alticor Media Blog and the Amway Media Blog were began to address questions from, who else, but the Media. At the time, Dick DeVos, son of Amway Founder Rich DeVos was running for Governor of Michigan and his connection with Amway was an issue during the campaign.
After the campaign(and DeVos' loss) the two media blogs began to address Alticor lawsuits and troubles with terminated Independent Business Owners affiliated with Alticor.
Dino then introduced the invited bloggers and briefly explained their blogging efforts.
Again, the panel consisted of Dave Robison; "IBOFightback" (David Steadson); Bridgett, "Tex", "Big Apple". and Quixtar's own, Robin Luymes.
Although, the conference organizers knew all the attendees' real names, each blogger was introduced as their Internet personae. Their anonymity was important to the organizers.
1. When did you first start blogging about Amway, and why?
This is when the "No Tool Scam" sign came out, and I described how the business has been hijacked by the "kingpins" as a tool profit business, and A/Q as a secondary business. I mentioned Rich DeVos and the Directly Speaking recordings, and encouraged the attendees to listen/read them. I started blogging about 3 years ago to put an end to this bait-and-switch scam.
(Blogger's Note: Tex also told the audience that the corporation had lost millions of dollars because they had not addressed the issue of IBOs losing even more millions of dollars through the "tool scam".)
2. Many blogs have their own ground rules, and certainly the blogosphere has many rules of the road. What rules—if any—do you govern yourself by when you blog, and for what reasons?
I treat others as they treat me. When I started blogging, I soon found others were very nasty and had no interest in my ideas. After trying to stay "above the fray" for some time, it became apparent the only way to get my message out was to push back. I don't insult anyone, but I do return insults, and I continue to do so until they apologize for the original insult. (However, since returning, I've agreed with Chuck Lia to be "nicer", as he has indicated he will police his blog fairly with all bloggers.)
3. In your opinion, what do you think of our company’s approach to blogging?
I think I generally agreed with their approach.
(Blogger's Note: Tex? Didn't you also disagree with some panelists,(not me) in that you respected the "strong" approach of the Alticor and Amway Media Blogs?)
4. How has blogging helped you as an individual, as an advocate for the company, and as an "online citizen"? (In my notes, this question was "Has Blogging made you a better person?)
I responded blogging hasn't made me a better person, it has revealed who I am, which is someone who wants to be treated with honesty in a business dealing, which has clearly NOT happened with the tool scam.
5. Do you participate in other online venues, such as with sites like MySpace or Facebook, or do any podcasting? Do you feel that our involvement in these venues makes sense given the nature of our business? Please explain your answer.
I responded I do not participate much in these other venues, although upon reflection I have done some podcasts.
6. Our bloggging presence – the way we blog, how we blog and what we say – is evolving over time. We are still in the learning stages. Many of the audience members here are professional communicators from our Amway affiliates all over the world. What advice can you give our audience members as they continue to embrace blogging as a tool of communication?
I don't recall responding to this question.
7. Do You Make Any Money Blogging?
No, but I believe I have caused a lot of tool scam money to NOT be made that otherwise would have been.
8. Many of the people in this audience primarily deal with reporters and are just now beginning to deal with bloggers. There has been much debate in recent years whether bloggers carry the same rights and privileges, as do traditional journalists. Do you feel bloggers and journalists are one in the same, and should we treat bloggers with the same level of professional courtesy as we do with reporters?
I replied I don't know, I would need to know how they treat reporters.
9. As a global company, we must cooperate with different governments and respect their laws and customs as a rule of doing business. That said, how has blogging impacted the global marketplace?
Many companies have realized they need to pay attention to blogs, as this is a real impact on their reputation.
10. Do you think that blogging has changed the direct selling industry as a whole? Why or why not?
Yes, but I don't recall any further details.
FINALLY, Dino said that over the past year or so; Alticor was trying to transform itself and its companies and its online reputation. In a one-word, "Yes or No" answer; Do you believe the company is already being transformed?
I responded yes, but only because he asked for a single word, I didn't add this question is a bit like asking someone if they have stopped beating their wife. We have started the transformation, but have a long way to go.

Tex "Claims" His Blog
As most of you know, this is Tex's Quixtar Blog. I just maintain it to provide a place for Tex's Messages about Quixtar/Amway and the "lying, cowardly kingpins" that run the "tool scam" of training Quixtar-affiliated business owners.
Tex has yet to "take over" and actually write blog entries, but his message is clear in the comments section.
But I was happy today when I was reviewing the site statistics of visits and noticed a referral from the Alticor Media Blog. I had not linked anything to the Media Blog so I followed the referral link back to see who was talking about this blog.
The link comes from an entry entitled , Nitro: Case Dismissed.
It's in the comments section.
I know he places the word, "MY", in quotes; but I'm glad Tex is feeling at home.
And Tex...that's a great way to drive traffic here.

SoonerIBO #107,
I agree, they should have simply resigned and followed the 6 month/2 year rules. No special requests, no lawsuit. Just GO, TEAM.
Do you have the tape/CD number where he refers to the “bubba juice?”
JimZ #108,
JimZ for President! Come visit me on "my" blog sometime, http://texsquixtarblog.blogspot.com/. I invite you and other enlightened individuals (or even curious) into the club of truth.
Chuck #109,
Good point, I think we would have heard about these guys leaving by now. Chuck for President! You have the same invitation as JimZ. We can handle Co-Presidents.
ThunderDUNCE #110,
So Fred was lying for 20 plus years, or all the other "kingpins" are now wrong?
I know he places the word, "MY", in quotes; but I'm glad Tex is feeling at home.
And Tex...that's a great way to drive traffic here.

Speaking For Tex / A "Successful" Scam Is Still A Scam
As Admin for this blog, it's my "duty" to take what Tex says in his comments here and other Amway-related blogs and make legitemate blog entries out of his words and text.
Recently, Tex made a comment that I think addresses a defense by some Quixtar/Amway IBOs as to the effectiveness of the Business Support Materials used by the leaders("lying cowardly kingpins") to motivate and train their downline.
The defense is basically, "It can't be a scam because so many organizations succeed and sponsor people using the tools...you can't have that kind of growth if people are being scammed."

"[It's] like saying any scam is okay as long as it is producing more victims.
The key factor in being a scam isn't whether the scam is working to produce growth.
The key is whether those "succeeding" are lying about the source of their income. The growth of the 1980's was as much (or more, as more people were being scammed every year) of a scam as the stagnant growth of the past dozen years.
It is somewhat less of a scam now as there is much more information available for prospects and IBO's regarding the scam.
However, the upline continues to call anything found on the internet as "bathroom wall" writing.
But the sheer volume and reliability of the sources are becoming impossible to make this argument stick.
It will no longer be a scam when the truth is told and full tool profit transparency is available to prospects and IBO's."

Tex's Second Post
TEX MADE TWO COMMENTS THAT I HAVE COMBINED TO MAKE A REALLY GOOD BLOG ENTRY
If we were discussing baseball, the important topics would be the basics of baseball. Defense, hitting, pitching, and running.
If we were discussing the construction industry, we would talk about materials, architecture, building codes, etc.
But we are talking business. Business is about making money, the source of profits, overhead, pricing, etc.
THE biggest issue with Quixtar IS the lying cowardly "kingpins", and how they have for decades ripped off millions of Distributors/IBO's for hundreds of millions to
10's of billions of dollars by using the A/Q business as a bait-and-switch operation. The LCK's make MUCH more from tools than A/Q, and it causes net losses for most other IBO's. Are there other issues? Of course, product pricing is one of them, but a distant second compared to the tool scam.
I've challenged others to name an issue/problem with A/Q, and chances are very good I can connect a direct or indirect influence from the tool scam.
Most bloggers just want to puke all over their experiences, opinions, etc. I'm here to cause positive change to happen, so it's no mystery to me why I have been "banned" from many blogs. Most of them are mere "soap operas", repeating the same tired stories over and over again. Instead, why NOT brainstorm on ideas on how to bring honesty and decency to this business? If you wanted, you could be a part of that effort, as your experience as a former IBO could be used to help others, rather than merely brapping all your "horror stories" all over the internet
I've tried to be "grown up" and "civil" for a very long time on qblog, and all I got in return was insults, namecalling, etc., until it got to the point that it was very apparent most of the other bloggers had no interest in discussing, just cussing. The only way I found was successful was to push back with similar posturing, while still making my points. I asked openly on several blogs for others to help me clamp down on the nasty talk and criticize those who conducted themselves in this matter. Zero takers. So the beat goes on....
In fact, Dave is the FIRST blog owner who has decided he would like meaningful disucssions of making things better, and that is VERY refreshing. But why should we need HIM to be "mommy and daddy", why not have a CULTURE on this blog that frowns on childish behavior? I'm game, are YOU?

Tex's First Post...Sorta
The following is a response to an entry at "On The Road With Dave." The relevant link is in the body of the message.

Dave,
First of all, thanks for setting up "my" blog, although I should note YOU are the Blog Administrator and can delete comments at your discretion.
You got a number of points wrong/inaccurate.
1. I do NOT hate the "tool systems", I hate the high prices that result in MA$$IVE secret profits for the lying cowardly "kingpins". I find no issue with the CONTENT of the tools, recognizing I will not agreement 100% with every other human being on this planet.
2. Although banned from many blogs (some multiple times, as they "let" me back on prior to being "banned" yet again). I have NEVER been banned from a corporate blog, unless you count the IBOAI one, which is obviously run by the lying cowardly "kingpins". Nor am I "heavily moderated" by any corporate blogs, in fact, some posters have accused A/Q of allowing my pointed comments and not allowing them to respond in kind.
3. Your speculative reasons for me being "banned" are indeed speculation.
I can speculate on three reasons why this has happened. My "prolific comments" are intended to educate the prospects and IBO's of the tool scam. In the blog world, the way to do this is to stay "on top" in the discussion (visible to the casual reader). The reason I quote others is to ensure no inferior point they make goes "unpunished". I challenge you to name an issue with this business, and chances are VERY good I can trace it to being directly or indirectly related to the tool scam. I ONLY counter-attack. I learned this lesson early in my "blogging life" long ago. I tried for 2-3 months or so to be "nice", and not hit back. However, I realized the only way to get my point across was to hit back. Shoot me with a pea-shooter, out comes my 16" guns. If you want a closed discussion (closed to other ideas), you SHOULD apply "Free Speech" only to the author. If you want the truth to come out, you allow ALL points of view, and allow facts and logic to prevail.

Nice or Honest
Tex said:

"...The critics will ALWAYS be vicious and will lie to support their position. The issue for me isn't putting the emphasis on being "civil" (ever hear of the saying, "Don't bring a knife to a gunfight"?), it is being open, honest, and transparent. When you do this, the critics will have the "knife", and we will have the "gun". The truth and facts are powerful. Everyone (including Quixtar) needs to understand we live in a different world, now that the internet and blogs exist. It's no longer possible to "sweep things under the rug", or "look the other way" when the elephant is standing in your living room.
The A/Q business needs to start the open, honest, and transparent exercise with the source of most of the profit (for the upline) and much of the loss (for most IBO's) is derived, the secret tool profits. Until this is done, the critics will have the upper hand. This is the "elephant in the living room" of the A/Q business. It can no longer be ignored, and has already been a quarter of a century since this biggest problem in the A/Q business was publicly identified by one of the co-founders.
Stop trying to be "nice" and just do the right thing. Being "nice" at the expense of being honest is a recipe for failure."
