Operation Short Change

Here's a link to a story I saw on Fox News today:
http://www.comcast.net/video/operation-short-change/1170883160/fanFinance/newest/

If Amway and the LCKs have any brain cells left, they should be shaking in their boots right now. This is a perfect opportunity for everyone to contact your state attorney general, especially in the several states participating in this effort (California, Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin, and Washington, D.C.), as well as the FTC. Be sure to mention "Operation Short Change" in your complaint, and ask the authorities to clamp down on the tool scam, as the UK did a couple of years ago. If you've already done this, do it again. NOW!

Summer Changes

Howdy Folks!

Dave Robison here, for Tex's Amway Global Blog.

Summer is here, or very nearly here, and I decided to spruce up Tex's Blog with a few changes.

You can now view some great photos of Texas in the side bar as well as catch up on the "goings on" in several of Texas' largest cities. Maybe you wanna plan a summer trip to The Lone Star State; and plan to attend one of the events.

Laying out under the stars on a warm summer night may be your passion--if so, I've included a gadget that will let you see some amazing photography of our galaxy. Too bad, a summer vacation there might not be in the cards for a few more years.

Of course, don't forget the regular features in the sidebar; Tex is always adding some comments to his Position Papers links. If you don't see a new blog entry in a couple of days, that doesn't mean you can't still mosey on over for a look at the blog and try out the new gadgets or read some new comments.

But, we won't mind if during part of the hot weather, you unplug from the Internet and take a dip like the boys in the photo from Burnet, Texas. Burnet, by the way, is the Bluebonnet capital of Texas.

Pricing, Pricing, Pricing

This post is like an oriental food type, sweet and sour. First the sweet, then the sour.

Amway has done a good job with 2 waves of price reductions so far this year. I posted about the first wave in January, below are the ones done last month. The average price reduction for the April group was about 17.4%:

(Original Post ends here.....)

PRICING INFO WAS REMOVED ON 6/05/09

I have temporarily removed the 2 pricing posts, pending approval with Amway. This is based on the Terms of Use statement, which says:

Limitations on Your Use: No material from our Site may be copied, reproduced, republished, downloaded, posted, displayed, transmitted, or distributed in any way, without Amway Global's prior written permission, except that you may download one copy of the materials on any single computer for your personal, noncommercial home use only, provided that (i) you keep intact all copyright and other proprietary notices, and (ii) you make no modifications to the materials. You may not, without our prior written permission, frame or mirror any material contained on this Site on any other server. The unauthorized use of any such material on any other Web site or computer environment is expressly prohibited. (Original post resumes here.....)

However, they also recently announced a 12 oz. version of XS Energy, priced at slightly more per oz. than the original 8.4 oz cans. Even though the PV/BV is slightly higher, this is a problem for 2 reasons:

1. Bigger cans should mean less cost per oz., and

2. The cost of XS for either can size when XS was introduced several years ago, but competition in the marketplace has driven the pricepoint significantly downward.

Amway isn't alone with being confused about pricing, TEAM knows this trick inside out: See this comment May 24, 2009 at 8:22 am. Genesis sells various tools for a fraction of what TEAM and most Amway LCK organizations sell them for, and apparently STILL make a profit. But keep in mind Genesis doesn't have multiple layers of LCKs to pay off, either.
