Are you familiar with the late Paul Harvey, with his wonderful and highly skillful manner of telling "the rest of the story" stories? If not, you really missed out on a great storyteller of our time. In fact, he did some advertising for Amway, and recorded a radio message, "I am Amway" that can probably be found on the internet somewhere. There are also probably books and tapes/CD's of his stories, but I digress....
Below you will find the Amway marketing plan "rest of the story." Every other slide is a real slide from a real, previously approved presentation, and the next slide alternates with "the rest of the story" that is true, but you won't hear from the lips of IBOs. The LCKs don't tell it because they don't want you to know about the tool scam, and most of the IBOs showing the business plan aren't aware of these facts. Enjoy.
P.S., I've been meaning to do this for some time, but thanks to a reminder from Robin Luymes, it is now available. Thanks, Robin!

Paul,
As one of several dozens of others reported to Amway over the past few months, did you know it is against the Amway Rules to advertise on Craigslist? (http://hartford.craigslist.org/hab/1452212826.html)
Also, there's a VERY good chance your upline makes much more profit from the tools (meetings, CDs, books, voice mail, web site, etc.) than from Amway, and as a result, most IBOs below Platinum, or about 99%, operate at a net loss. Check it out on my blog. I suggest you start here: http://texsquixtarblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/9-steps-of-truth.html Don't expect Amway to care about this tool scam, they have been protecting/covering up this activity for several decades, and are now actively promoting it.
If you want more details, call me or set up a call: http://texsquixtarblog.blogspot.com/2009/01/talk-to-tex.html
I encourage you to join the movement to shut down the tool scam and forward the tool scam information to everyone you know, and signing/forwarding this online petition: http://www.petitiononline.com/amway/petition.html.

Javier,
Check it out en mi blog.

Check out this discussion, I can't tell much difference between what Purity12 and the Amway LCKs are doing, can you?
http://www.amwaytalk.com/north-america-f17/lennon-ledbetter-leaves-amway-no-he-doesn-t-t982-110.html
Here's the training compensation information from the Purity12 website, I don't see much difference between the "Squadron Commander" (which have to have a minimum product level) and the Platinum and above Amway LCKs making money off the tool scam. The flight instructors don't have a minimum level, but they are paid nearly as much, either. None of the dollar levels appear to be out of line with the training service delivered. Moreover, these also appear to be one-time training sessions, unlike the repetitive Amway LCK training.
Training Opportunity
Why become a Flight Instructor?
Paid $20 for every new recruit they train (Regardless of Downline)
How to Become a Flight Instructor
Pay $299 and attend an 8 hour Flight School taught by a Certified Squadron Commander
Why be a Squadron Commander?
a. Paid $150 for every new Flight Instructor they train
b. Paid a $5 override on all New Recruits trained by FI's they Train
How to Become a Squadron Commander
a. Pay $999 and attend an 8 hour Squadron Commander School Taught by a Certified Division Commander
b. Be at least the Rank of Sergeant Major in the Product Comp Plan

How I put off Amway salesmen.
Whenever an amway agent approaches me with the business of the century thing, I show keen interest and listen to everything he has to say.
After giving him a patient hearing, I tell him it's a fantastic Idea and I'd be certainly willing to try it out.
I then ask him if he knows to swim (my next step changes based on his answer)
If no is the answer, I tell him I'd certainly like to join Amway if he joins a scheme I am running. In his eagerness to sign me up, he will almost certainly say yes.
Next I give him a small talk on how important it is to know swimming and how many lives could be saved if everyone knew to swim. By now he is itching to know about my scheme. I then drop the bombshell to his question about the scheme which he would invariably ask. I tell him I'm conducting a course called Learn Swimming by Post which costs almost the same as Amway to join.
It is important to maintain your composure and nto laugh when you drop the bomb. It won't be long before he beats a hasty retreat....either thinking I'm nuts or angry with himself for having wasted his time.
I've done much reseach after deciding that working as an IBO for Amway is not for me. Almost all of the data that you show is 100% inaccurate for a few reasons.
1) You assume that the goods purchased by an IBO at wholesale is included in the 'operating costs' of an IBO. This is not the case, that money is spent on the same products, just at a different store or e-commerce site, etc.
2) The 'tool scam' that you talk about does not involve Amway Global at all. The purchase of tools, convention and other various apparel/products is routed NOT THROUGH AMWAY at all, but rather through whichever 'team building' company you are registered under. Each outside company sets their own prices based on profits, tool % markup, and may/maynot incur those onto IBO's.
America needs more uninformed broke people who love to just ramble on about speculation, and you'll make a great broke one.
I think WFG is much worst than Amway. Both are scams!
MSNBC did a special on Amway. It turns out that there were a special group of Amway distributors that were selected to promote Amway seminars. This is how they reached their top financial status. They showed you Amway's top distributor on stage at a North Carolina conference. It was tantamount to a cult following.
I have been an IBO in the past and am currently an entrepreneur in a tradtional business. This is what I have found:
1. Every business cost for training and promotion. That's what the tools are for.
2. Whenever there is a cost for something, some entity is making a profit. The major concern for a consumer is if they are getting proper value for their dollar. The toos are designed to do this. Its up to the IBO to take advantage of the opportunity. Trust me, it is exponentially less expensive than the training and other tools necessary to use in my traditional business.
3. The most successful people at any level focus on cost, value and their benefit, not how much others may make. Truly successful people are more concerned about how much they make.
4. Finally, it is amazing how people view legitimate business opportunities as a scam, but never question the top 1% of top companies (shareholders, CEOs, Directors, etc.) that pay themeselves millions without ever offering the same wealth creating opportunity to their employees. Amway may not be a perfect utopia, but it at least offers people an opportunity.
America promises opportunity, not a guarantee of success in any endeavor. Just because everyone does not succeed does not make a business opportunity a scam. It just may not be right for them.
It looks like you do not have the right upline to make your income.
You can make an income by providing the product to people. Its works really great and you have an option to return the item within 6 months if you do not like it...even though you used the product up to 80%. What kind of a department store will give you that option..
You are right the upline does make more moeny then you...but if you sign up enough people under you and introduce the product to the fullest extend, they will make the profits on merchandise as well as you do.
It sounds you do NOT have enough skills to move forward..
Keller Williams Realty works the same way. They promise you the world in order to get you to join, and they talk about how much residual income you will make through "profit sharing," and they pressure you to recruit other agents. Then you run into dishonest owner/operators who either keep two sets of books or they simply steal from their agents by bouncing commission checks. When you complain to corporate, they tell you they can't get involved, which is nonsense, because corporate meddles in the affairs of their individual offices more than any other real estate company.
YOU FUCKING LOSER STOP SPAMMING YOUR AMWAY GARBAGE ON RANDOM WEBSITES THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH AMWAY
If you got ripped off by Amway, it is because YOU ARE A GULLIBLE LOSER
Oh and by the way, if someone offers to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge...
ahh, fuck it.
There are quite a few multi-level marketing operations. How about Forever Living? Is that another scam? My fiancée want to sell their products, but I am not sure if they are just one more pyramid operation. Any comments?
Ghost, I have no idea what this means: "I'm conducting a course called Learn Swimming by Post which costs almost the same as Amway to join."
Anon,
1) You assume that the goods purchased by an IBO at wholesale is included in the 'operating costs' of an IBO. This is not the case, that money is spent on the same products, just at a different store or e-commerce site, etc. ---- No, I NEVER said that. You are a LIAR.
---- Yes, it DOES involve Amway, here's why: Amway is a scam, and here's why: Amway pays out as little money as they can get away with, so they support the higher level IBOs ripping off their downline via the tool scam. As a result, about 99% of IBOs operate at a net loss, while the top 1% make several TIMES more from their Amway tool scam than from the Amway products. Read about it on my blog, I suggest you start here: http://tiny.cc/D5oJh and forward the information to everyone you know, so they don't get scammed.
America needs more uninformed broke people who love to just ramble on about speculation, and you'll make a great broke one. ---- You are wrong on all counts, I am informed, do not speculate, and I'm not broke. 3 strikes, you're OUT!
I have no idea whether WFG is legitimate or not, but I do know Amway is a scam.
As far as I know, people are not "selected", they work very hard to rise to the higher levels and start making Amway tool scam money. The Dateline NBC show did not go nearly far enough to address the Amway tool scam.
Anon,
I have been an IBO in the past and am currently an entrepreneur in a tradtional business. This is what I have found: ---- Why did you quit? Was it because you and your fellow IBOs were getting ripped off via the Amway tool scam?
1. Every business cost for training and promotion. That's what the tools are for. ---- That's part of what the tools are for, they are also for creating several TIMES more profit than what comes from Amway for the upline LCKs.
---- Just because the tools are less expensive does NOT make them the proper value for the dollar, as it results in about 99% of IBOs lose money.
3. The most successful people at any level focus on cost, value and their benefit, not how much others may make. Truly successful people are more concerned about how much they make. ---- That's right, if me and the IBOs don't make a net profit until they reach Platinum, the tool prices are too high.
---- Apples and oranges, as the high level people at other companies are KNOWN to be making that money, whereas the Amway tool scam is NOT openly talked about when showing the marketing plan or after the prospect becomes an IBO.
America promises opportunity, not a guarantee of success in any endeavor. Just because everyone does not succeed does not make a business opportunity a scam. It just may not be right for them. ---- I never asked to be guaranteed success, nor do I expect everyone to succeed. But when most of the profit comes from the hidden tool profit, rather than the openly discussed Amway profit, it's a scam.
It looks like you do not have the right upline to make your income. ---- Most IBOs do not have the right upline to make income.
You can make an income by providing the product to people. ---- True, but this is NOT what is taught. Its works really great and you have an option to return the item within 6 months if you do not like it...even though you used the product up to 80%. ---- There is no percentage limit, but you are missing the point, which is most of the profit has nothing to do with Amway products, it's in the tool scam. What kind of a department store will give you that option..---- Again, you are missing the point.
You are right the upline does make more moeny then you...but if you sign up enough people under you and introduce the product to the fullest extend, they will make the profits on merchandise as well as you do. ---- I'm not complaining about the upline making more from Amway, I'm complaining about ripping me off via the Amway tool scam.
It sounds you do NOT have enough skills to move forward.. ---- I have plenty of skills to move forward, the problem isn't my skills, it's the Amway tool scam and the damage to Amway's reputation that's the issue.
Anon,
I don't know about Keller Williams Realty.
YOU FUCKING LOSER STOP SPAMMING YOUR AMWAY GARBAGE ON RANDOM WEBSITES THAT HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH AMWAY ---- Fuck you, asshole.
If you got ripped off by Amway, it is because YOU ARE A GULLIBLE LOSER ---- Me and millions of others, jerk.
Oh and by the way, if someone offers to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge... ---- This has to do with Amway, not some stupid joke.
ahh, fuck it. ---- No, fuck YOU!
Andy,
I don't know about Forever Living, I know about the Amway business and the Amway tool scam.
How dumb can you be? I learned about the Amway scam in the 1960's and it has never changed. You were dumb enough to get scammed 50 years later! What makes you even dumber is that you SPAM all over the Internet and your ISP will soon ban you. What a pathetic crybaby!
Anon,
How dumb can you be? ---- Not as dumb as you. LOL
I learned about the Amway scam in the 1960's and it has never changed. ---- It changed plenty from the 1960s, the Amway tool scam is much more highly developed. People are paying for things that didn't even exist in the 1960s, such as voice mail and web sites. IDIOT.
You were dumb enough to get scammed 50 years later! ---- Actually, it was about 30 years later, but I have LOTS of company that also got scammed.
What makes you even dumber is that you SPAM all over the Internet and your ISP will soon ban you. ---- One man's SPAM is another's educational messages. I doubt my ISP cares. LOL
What a pathetic crybaby! ---- I agree, you are! LOL
Please try to control yourself on blogs, TexTex. You're wearing out your welcome with your spam in the comments' section.
Anon,
I'm not there to be welcomed, I'm there to educate others. Hit the road.
ANOTHER SCAM IS NIKKEN - ANOTHER "INDEPENDENT DISTRIBUTOR"-- IT'S A COMPANY THAT MAKES MAGNETICS FOR HEALTH. YOU GET NOTHING FROM THE COMPANY-NO INPUT OR GUIDANCE. WE PUT A TON OF MONEY AND HARD WORK INTO BUILDING "OUR" "TEAM"-- WE GOT ZERO! BEWARE OF SUCH SCAMS!!!!!!!!!!
Nikken may be a scam, but I believe it is for a different reason than the tool scam that makes Amway a scam.
Does anyone here know anything about FHTM? Fortune High Tech Marketing?
I suggest you find a FHTM blog and see what they say there, this blog is mainly focused on Amway and the Amway tool scam.
I attended a talk by Amway once on my own accord.
However, there are the 3 things that caused me not to sign up:
1. I needed to pay a joining fee for "information" about the company and products. In this day and age, who pays for information?!
2. I looked at the price list. The products were not cheap compared to similar items in shops.
3. They asked me to help out in a demo of a showergel. The person asked me to describe how it smells to the audience. I was speechless. Because I didn't like the smell and I can't imagine myself bathing with that for the rest of my life.
Looks like you never got past those issues to get scammed by the Amway tool scam. Good for you.
It is unfortunate that there are people out here that listen to the nonsense that you post. These people like yourself have no dream, no vision, and will away sit behind a desk wishing away 5 days for 2 to do some yard work and take vacations. All of your so called facts are false if not made up on your day off of work....Get a life with a greater purpose and don't be mad because it did not work for you....well let me rephrase you were to lazy to put some work in for your family and decided it would be a great idea to start a blog!
It is unfortunate that there are people out here that listen to the nonsense that you post. ---- Really? Please define what you think is nonsense that I post.
These people like yourself have no dream, no vision, and will away sit behind a desk wishing away 5 days for 2 to do some yard work and take vacations. ---- Nice tapespeak, but I DO have a dream and vision, to shut down the Amway tool scam.
