THEY said it; NOT ME!

UPDATE 1/27/09

This entry was Originally Entitled "Tex Reviews Two Amway Tapes"

Tex says...

"I've listened to a couple of LCK CD's recently that are quite insulting.

The first, by LCK's Ron and Georgia Puryear, "Dreamers", FED 16CD from 2002, starts out by Ron insulting Rich DeVos and the entire Amway business model.

He said things like Rich didn't understand the business he created, and said Rich's idea was for every IBO to sell products to the Platinum level, then sponsor other IBO's who would repeat this.

This is patently FALSE.

The other CD recorded LCK Greg Duncan, also in the 2002 timeframe, entitled "XS Energy Drink: Tastes Like A Million Bucks", BWW111CD.

Greg talked about how the criticism on the internet was done by those who wouldn't show themselves in the open, which is a perfect description of the LCK's not showing their faces online.

He also mentioned 240 Diamonds broke in South Korea that year, and tapes/CD's are not legal there.

Imagine that, the business grows without the tool scam, what a concept!"

Isn't it funny how every comment that isn't yours is "magically" deleted by the author. You don't even have the spine to have others tell the other side of the story to the guy that takes his day to listen to other people who have succeeded make a CD to have clowns like you try to find your best out of 454 minutes of talking to give your best "2-liner" on how awful & "controversial" it is... Grow up.

Hey Tex,

How ya doing? Hope you are fine and dandy. I am doing great. I think your blog is silly. And I feel that you have totally misunderstood the real purpose of the CDs and Books of the system. And as for the People ...Jake and Jackie, Gary and Tammy Campbell and Dianne...Have you every had a real conversation with these people in person? ? Well I have met them all except Jackie and Dianne. Tammy for example is a wonderful person. She lights up and room. And know how to encourage and uplift people. Never tares anyone down. Jake is awesome.. I love his boldness but also his heart. He is a real man of character. And Gary is a man people should try and model for his integraty and courage. It must be nice to live in such a big house and to retire you wife at 25.I am 26...I wish that I could be retired right now. I dont want to be living the crap shoot life the working work is living. These people provide vision for success. And a dream like no other. To help people including themselves be free and independant in more ways than just financial. I love these people and I look upto them for wisdom. I am sorry friend but not all the Diamonds in amway global are what you are trying to make them out to be.

I hope you have a successful and prosperous 2010.

What a concept, you make a CD or write a book & get paid everytime someone buys one... Wow I thought these rockstars made minimum wage. So using this concept called retail or even royalties, a person can have a business selling records, CDs, books, etc... Slow down, all this thinking, my brain might explode.
Well what about conferences? You can pay $100 for 4hr concert, $100 for your favorite ball game or $100 for 2-3 days of business knowledge. But wait, ain't that brain washing? Some dirty minds need washing, but is there any difference in learning how to flip burgers, operate a grocery register or learn to perform heart surgery? Not really, you have to learn somewhere. What better to learn from someone who has accomplished what you want to do. I can give you a good deal on surgery because I learnd it on u-tube.
Yeah, but that's a pyramid! Yeah, so is your job's structure. Who makes the most at your job? You doing all the hard work or the boss making the decisions? Now think about this... Can you make more than him/her (without killing them)? How about a concept of helping the next person become successful, uplift & promote their strengths that's what life should be about. Not pull down & keep others from achieving their potential.
Now the selling part... I have no quarrels with any other retailer (physical outlets or malls, etc). We all know you will buy "things" until you die (mostly food). A rhetorical question... Where do you shop? Would you be willing to help a family or friend, if you knew he/she has access to what you are looking for? Or just go down to your "favorite" store & help the unknown family?
It's not the company you work for that's evil, but as we all know, there are evil people (or maybe just misdirected). As easy as it is, try not to blame the company for what an individual says or does, but look for someone else that you enjoy hanging out with in life.

a friend gave me the Leadership Team Development (another Quixtar pretty much) speech recently. LOL my scam-meter went way up right away. I did a lot of research the past few days and now I am outraged! How can this (brilliant, yes) scamming system be allowed to perpetuate in this country? And expand overseas to the third world and poorer countries?
Anyways, I listened to a CD of theirs. There is no valuable information in these "tools". All they say is, in essence: "Look how rich Diamonds are" and "Buy more of our CDs and books"
If you hear the name "Leadership Team Development" stay away!
Just look at the name...how misguiding it is ...in fact you are a soap peddler trying to get more soap peddlers to peddle expensive soap for you.
They call it a "mentorship program". They never tell you the specifics.
And it's not just uneducated people that fall for this, it's young professionals and college students as well.
Basically they play onto your greed and your naivete. They know everyone wants to be their own boss.
And when confronted with the abysmal retention rate of IBOs, the apologists say "but most small businesses are doomed to fail, some are not cut out for this, etc"
Do they tell you that when they try to lure you in?
No, it's all your fault in the end. But, regardless if you make money or lose money, the LCKs make money off the tools.

Hello Tex. I'm a new memeber of LTD and I know your advice would be to get out while there is still time. I rather like the friends I've found in the system. God fearing, hard working Americans. Sure we make money selling CD's and holding conferences. I think that's pretty good. I lived in San Angelo TX for three years while in the Marines and I hope everyone in that area joins the LTD system. I'm glad you are against us and our practices... every voice in America should be heard. As for some tape talk, every worthwhile journey will be opposed. God bless you Tex.

I have been in Amway for 11 years, got involved when it was quixtar, I've reached the Founders Emerald level. I am skimming through these and I can't even believe someone would waste their energy. Tex sounds like a real bitter ex-IBO to me. Oh my gosh do you need to get a productive life buddy. WOW!
